Session Covenant

Ordained and installed to serve Christ as Ministers of the Word and Sacrament and Elders of New Hanover Church, we the Session are committed to maintaining a close relationship with Jesus Christ, relying on the Holy Spirit and the Bible as God's word for wisdom and guidance, and we are committed to glorifying our one true God through prayer, worship and Christian fellowship as we work together in ministry.

As we serve together, we desire to be faithful to Christ in our relationship with each other, recognizing that Christ is the head of the church, and to model the love and unity as demonstrated by the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. We hereby covenant to:


Worship God together.

  • Pray before, during, and after meetings and gatherings.

  • Allow the Holy Spirit to spontaneously move us in prayer.
