Children & Youth

Mission Statement

New Hanover Church's mission statement for children and youth is to bring children and youth to Christ so that they may make Christ known in the world.

Children

The Children's Ministry at New Hanover seeks to reach and teach children through comprehensive programming consisting of discipleship (Sunday school and Wednesday night programs), fellowship (special events such as Family Fun Fest - October, Advent Workshop - December, Valentine's event - February, Easter Egg Hunt and picnic - March/April, Summer-long activities), worship (Sunday children's worship, Vacation Bible School) and outreach ("Tweeners" (4th & 5th grades) services projects, Operation Christmas Child).

Children Ministry opportunities:

Sundays:

Nursery available at all services for infant through 3 year olds
Children's worship for 4 year olds through Kindergarten: 8:30 AM
Sunday School for 2 year olds through fifth grades at 9:45 a.m.
Kid's club for 1st through 5th grade at 11:00 a.m.

Wednesdays (School year)

Creative arts ministry and Pioneer Club for 2 year olds through 5th grade starting at 6:15-7:30 p.m.
Lights of God choir at 6:00 p.m.

Special events planned on a bi-monthly basis.

Youth

The Youth Ministry exists to celebrate God's glory, to encourage youth to respond to, challenge, and learn from each other as they open their hearts and minds to the Holy Spirit, and to share the gospel of Jesus Christ with youth in the community, in order that they may be equipped to serve God as He calls them.
